Some months back we revised the wine club structure we have been using since we started in the business back in 2008. The new program, put in place so people have more options to choose from, impacts primarily new members who have signed up since the date of our revision. It does not affect our loyal members who have been coming here year after year.
However, many of our older members might benefit from the new approach, depending upon how much wine they buy each quarter. If you take a look at our new program and think you would like to save some money by jumping in at a higher level, just let me know. Otherwise, if you choose to leave things alone, just do nothing. You will experience no changes and will continue to get the same 20% discount on the two bottles per quarter.
The new program works on the premise that the more you buy, the greater your discount, and there are three discount levels. Members in the basic level, called Club 20, receive 20% off and purchase a minimum of 3 bottles per quarter. (This is what most of our earlier members received, except back when they joined, the minimum purchase for each quarter was two bottles, not three.) The next level is Club 25, where the member gets 25% off but agrees to buy 6 bottles of wine per quarter. Finally, there is Club 30, where the member gets 30% off and agrees to buy 12 bottles per quarter.
Some of our long-time club members, particularly some we ship wine to each quarter, have always bought a full case. No doubt, this has a lot to do with our great wines, but probably the fact that we cover the cost of shipping 12 bottles or more might have something to do with it. If you are one of these, you’ll notice we have moved you into Club 30 level automatically and you will see with the December billing that you now get 30% off. Free shipping is still part of the deal.
If you are a member who has been around a while, and would like to increase your quarterly shipments and take advantage of this program, just let me know. I’d be happy to change your commitment level. Otherwise, if you are happy with the way things are, we will not be changing anything. And if you are happy, we are happy.
