Our 2013 Sangiovese is 100% Sangiovese, sourced from the Mohr-Fry Ranches just south of Lodi. It is a classic wine. This medium-bodied wine is fragrant, tastes of cherries on the tongue with a subtle spiciness characteristic of Sangioveses. A great mouth feel with a long lasting finish.

Varietal Fun Facts. Outside of Italy Sangiovese is not widely planted. In terms of world plantings, Sangiovese is less abundant than even the little known Mourvedre. There are approximately only 2,000 acres of Sangiovese grown in California. Sangiovese wines offer a wide range of tastes from very earthy and rustic–as is the case with many Chianti Classico– to round and fruit-forward.
