Our 2014 Barbera is a classic new world style Barbera, bursting with the fragrance of warm fruity dark cherries, tasting of cherries and dried strawberries on the tongue that finishes with lingering toasted oak and fruit. Bright, clean and juicy, this wine is delightful on palette with a full mouth feel, perfect acid/fruit balance and soft and subtle tannins.
The grapes for this wine came from Leland Noma’s 40 year old head trained vines located southeast of Lodi. The resulting wine is a beautiful expression of the Lodi terrior.

Varietal Fun Facts: Barbera, native to Italy, was looked down upon by the Italians of long ago as a lesser wine to Nebbiolo but was still considered to be the “wine of the people.” Since its beginnings in Italy Barbera has travelled the world, following Italian immigrants as they moved around the globe.
